Gastroscopy/Liver Biopsy
Gastroscopy is a procedure where a flexible gastroscope is introduced through the mouth to check the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. It can be used toevaluate for conditions involving the upper gastrointestinal tract such as reflux oesophagitis; duodenal/stomach ulcers and stomach cancer. A liver biopsy is performed when a liver problem is difficult to diagnose with blood tests or imaging techniques, such as ultrasound and x ray. It is a day surgery procedure to remove a small piece of the liver so it can be examined with a microscope for signs or degree of liver damage. This will served as a guide for the future treatment for liver related diseases.

Colonoscopy / Sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy is a procedure where a flexible colonoscope being inserted through the anus to check the rectum, colon and sometimes terminal ileum, the last part of small intestines. It can be used to diagnose colon polyps, diverticular disease, piles, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer.
Sigmoidoscopy is a procedure where a flexible colonoscope being inserted through the anus to check the rectum and up to the sigmoid colon. It can be used to diagnose colon polyp, diverticular disease, piles, colitis and colon cancer.

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a procedure where instruments are inserted via a scope through the mouth into the bile duct or pancreatic duct, to manage certain conditions such as bile duct stones and infection.

Endoscopic Ultrasound / Video Capsule Endoscopy
Endoscopic ultrasonography is a procedure where a special ultrasound probe is inserted through the mouth to evaluate organs or tissue within or just adjacent to the wall of the gastrointestinal tract. This can facilitate tissue biopsies or further evaluation. Video capsule endoscopy is a procedure where a tiny camera in a capsule is swallowed and the images are recorded for evaluation, usually of small bowel disease.
